Classroom Training Still King

Classroom Training Still King
1/24/2006

Despite all the attention given to e-learning, mobile learning and on-demand learning, most training is still done in the classroom. In their 2005 Industry Report, Training magazine's exclusive research of employer-sponsored training in the United States shows that most learning still is done the traditional way.

"As they have done year after year, no matter what new software or tool has been popular, organizations in this year's report said that 70 percent of all their formal training courses are provided in classrooms with live instructors. Out of all the methods of delivery available, classroom training with a live instructor was the method that the most organizations said they used often.

In fact, when you look at the data about whether organizations use online learning or classroom instruction to deliver specific types of training, it's pretty clear that while online learning is being used, it isn't being used anywhere near as much as it occasionally seems..."
